SensMax TAC-B EWP is a PoE-powered indoor/outdoor radar sensor for real-time indoor people counting and outdoor pedestrian and bicycle counting. It uses contactless 60 GHz mmWave radar technology to detect movement, direction, speed and presence without video cameras or personal data collection.
The sensor supports both sidewall and overhead installation, making it suitable for entrances, corridors, retail areas, public buildings, smart buildings, pedestrian routes and bicycle paths. In wall mode, TAC-B EWP can classify moving objects as pedestrians or cyclists. In overhead mode, it can classify pedestrians as adults or children based on object height.
With PoE power and Ethernet data over one cable, Wi-Fi connectivity, MQTT/API integration, configurable counting lines and zones, Micro SD backup storage and built-in dry contact relay output, TAC-B EWP is designed for professional people counting, smart building automation and smart city projects.

SensMax TAC-B EWP uses 60 GHz mmWave radar instead of cameras. The sensor emits a scanning radio signal and receives reflections from moving objects. This allows the device to detect movement, direction, speed and position without filming visitors.
Because TAC-B EWP is camera-free, it does not record video, faces or images. The system collects anonymous radar data only, making it suitable for privacy-sensitive locations such as offices, public buildings, retail stores, museums, transport areas, parks and city infrastructure.
Radar detection also works in different light conditions, including darkness, glare and bright sunlight. It can continue detecting movement in challenging environments where video-based systems may be affected by light, fog, snow or rain.
SensMax TAC-B EWP supports different mounting options depending on the project layout. The people counting sensor can be installed on a sidewall, above the monitored area, or on a pole for outdoor pedestrian and bicycle counting. This flexibility makes it suitable for locations where standard ceiling-mounted people counters cannot be used.
Sidewall mounting is used when the sensor is installed on a wall, column or side structure and monitors movement across the selected area. This option is useful for entrances, corridors, retail fronts, open-front stores and public passages where ceiling installation is not possible, not allowed, or where the ceiling is too high for overhead people counting.
In sidewall mounting, TAC-B EWP can count people moving in both directions using configurable counting lines and zones. This allows the sensor to measure IN/OUT visitor flow without installing a device directly above the passage.

Overhead mounting is used when TAC-B EWP is installed above the monitored area and points downward. This option is suitable for indoor people counting in room entrances, washrooms, museums, libraries, public buildings, corridors and controlled indoor zones.
In overhead mounting, the sensor can count people from above and classify visitors as adults or children based on object height. This provides more detailed anonymous visitor statistics without using cameras or collecting personal data.

Pole mounting is used for outdoor locations where the sensor is installed on a pole, lamp post or similar vertical structure. This option is suitable for pedestrian routes, bicycle paths, parks, public spaces, smart city areas and shared-use outdoor corridors.
In pole mounting, TAC-B EWP works in sidewall mode and monitors movement across the path. It supports bidirectional counting and can classify moving objects as pedestrians or cyclists based on speed. The IP68 enclosure makes the sensor suitable for outdoor use in changing weather conditions.

TAC-B EWP is designed for real-time people counting projects where data must be available immediately for dashboards, reporting tools, automation systems or third-party platforms.
The sensor supports wired Ethernet, PoE and Wi-Fi connectivity. PoE allows the device to receive power and transmit data through one Ethernet cable, reducing installation complexity and making the sensor suitable for professional smart building and infrastructure projects.
For system integration, TAC-B EWP supports API, MQTT data export and can be used with external dashboards, BMS platforms, IoT systems, Smart City software and other third-party environments. People counting data and system events can be used in reporting, monitoring and automation workflows.
If the network connection is temporarily unavailable, the sensor can continue storing data on the built-in Micro SD card and upload it later when the connection is restored.
TAC-B EWP includes a built-in dry contact relay output. This allows the radar sensor to send a physical signal to external systems and devices when a selected event or count condition is reached.
The dry contact output makes TAC-B EWP useful not only for reporting, but also for automation projects where people counting data must trigger actions in other systems.
In addition to dry contact output, TAC-B EWP has a built-in speaker for audio notifications. This feature can be used when the sensor should react with a sound message or warning after a configured event.
For example, audio notifications can support visitor guidance, access warnings, service alerts or public-area instructions. The speaker is an additional option for projects where counting and detection should be combined with local feedback.
SensMax TAC-B EWP is suitable for indoor and outdoor projects where real-time, camera-free radar counting is required.
TAC-B EWP can be installed on a wall or ceiling using the built-in metal bracket. The bracket rotates 180°, allowing the sensor to be positioned according to the selected operating mode.
For wall mode, the recommended installation height is 250-350 cm from the floor level. For overhead mode, the recommended installation height is 200-300 cm. Correct installation height is important for object classification, such as pedestrian/cyclist recognition in wall mode or adult/child recognition in overhead mode.
The sensor can be connected directly to a PoE router or PoE switch. If the existing network equipment does not support PoE, an external PoE injector can be used. For outdoor installations, waterproof connector covers should be used to protect the cable connections.
TAC-B EWP is the preferred model when a project requires PoE, wired Ethernet, IP68 indoor/outdoor protection, sidewall or overhead installation, dry contact automation, MQTT/API integration, adult/child classification or pedestrian/bicycle counting in one radar sensor.
For indoor retail, office and public-space projects where Wi-Fi is sufficient and PoE or dry contact output is not required, the standard SensMax TAC-B 3D-W can be a simpler option. For outdoor locations where mobile communication is required, the SensMax TAC-B 4G may be considered.

The device has a built-in metal bracket for wall or ceiling installation. A PoE injector and additional pole bracket are optional accessories and are not included in the standard package.
